Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean Idlers, Almost Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property management company before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC beach you long to visit, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. message the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or host was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
