How to book the best vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the most suitable rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Beaufort, NC attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Selecting the perfect rental home in Beaufort:

  • To start, have your group select dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. The Lookout, Soundside House in Historical Beaufort, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Have a great stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Note any issues with the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
