Beachgoers on the hunt for something refreshing and filling will appreciate colorful Sub Tropics – a small sandwich, wrap and smoothie spot that’s located in the heart of Atlantic Beach, just off the Atlantic Beach Causeway.
This small deli and eatery has a surprisingly varied menu that features nearly 20 sandwiches and a half dozen wraps, in addition to its seasonal specials. All sandwiches come in half sub or full sub sizes, and include Italian favorites like ham and Genoa salami, pepperoni or pastrami, American favorites like turkey, ham and roast beef, and a few more unusual and interesting stand-outs like the prime rib and the Cubano sub. The wraps are equally enticing, with veggies choices, tuna or chicken salad, and an Island style fish wrap which features red and green cabbage, onion, Pico de Gallo, cheese, and “sunshine aioli.” A variety of ice cold smoothies are also on the menu, and visitors can also order special party platters for grand and casual events on the boat or the beach.
A perfect spot that’s en route to the Circle and other Atlantic Beach public shorelines, Sub Tropics is a prime destination for beach fans who want a satisfying meal to enjoy before, during or after a trip to the shoreline. (Hours may change seasonally.)
