Emerald Isle rental booking tips:

Get the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. \"Jackpot\" ~ 1304 Queens Court ~ 2Bd\/2Ba Top Floor Oceanfront Condo ~ Elevator has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you book your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
  • Visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the host immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
