How to get the best rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Book your Beaufort, NC vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. 2 Br 2 Bath Condo Oceanfront Resort 2 Pools & Water Slide has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many difficulties.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Make contact with the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
