Our top Beaufort, NC vacation rental home tips:

Getting the most from your rental home budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the most suitable rental home within your budget, we recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular attractions and restaurants.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Finding the perfect rental home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. A Gritty Palace. Gorgeous. Oceanfront. Pool and Hot Tub! has 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you book your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Keep your property safe!
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
