Strategies for getting the best rental home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer time is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have deals for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking the rightrental:

  • Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. ????Beachside Complex_Private Beach Access _ Pool_WiFi_Kitchen has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the host before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, NC beach you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Record any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
