Our top Vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summer is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the largest rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your rental search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and choose a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Chateau Relaxo- Remodeled Pool View Condo with Direct Beach and Sound Access has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if there is a dispute.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
