Full of bright, cheerful colors and the unmistakable spirit of the coast, this alluring home makes the ideal Atlantic Beach getaway. In this handsome setting, you'll be right around the corner (a three-min. walk) from the beach, with a top-floor view of the ocean waiting to welcome you back.

This three-story home is half of a duplex, one that's located in a blissfully peaceful neighborhood of Atlantic Beach. Set in the second row back from the sand, the home is ideal for beach days - with a storage closet full of beach chairs, an umbrella, body boards, and beach games included. If you're looking to get out and discover the area, you'll be within a mile or so of the pier, the Elliott Coues Nature Trail, and Fort Macon State Park.

After a pretty day spent swimming and surfing, come home to rinse off in the outdoor shower, gather around the picnic table for snacks and cold drinks, and play a bit of Tiki Toss. There are decks up on two levels of the home as well - a lower deck tucked into the foliage, and an upper sundeck overlooking the ocean.

Inside, the main living space is on the top floor, offering wood floors and central air conditioning. There's an open kitchen with stainless steel appliances, both a table and a breakfast bar for mealtime seating, and a living room with a comfortable sectional and a intelligent TV. There's a kids' bedroom on this floor, as well as three bedrooms downstairs - one of which is a primary suite with a walk-in shower and garden tub.

North Carolina Maritime Museum and Core Sound Waterfowl Museum and Heritage Center are cultural highlights, and some of the area's activities can be experienced at Triple S Marina and Anchorage Marina. North Carolina Aquarium at Pine Knoll Shores and Professor Hacker's Lost Treasure Golf and Raceway are also worth visiting. Jet skiing, kayaking, and scuba diving offer great chances to get out on the surrounding water, or you can seek out an adventure with cycling nearby.

  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition.
