Money-saving Tips

  • Search for the official tourism bureau where you want to visit. Many tourism bureaus will send printed tourism guide books with special deals for vacation rentals, dining and tours. These guides provide a great start to your rental search.
  • In a position to modify your travel dates? The off-peak shoulder seasons will offer you great rates on daily rentals.
  • Are you a armed forces veteran? Plenty of rental companies provide unique discounts to veterans and active-duty forces. Make sure to confirm with property owner to see if your vacationing group qualifies for a rate reduction.
  • Some rentals are basically catered to specific travelers, whether it's oceanside rentals with weekly pier passes, city-center condos with walkable access to night life or waterfront homes that feature private jetski launching areas. You'll receive the best value from a rental that most closely suits your ideal trip setting, regardless if it costs a bit more.
  • Consider investing in trip insurance along with your leasing contract. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you between 1% - 5% of the basic stay cost, provides buyers reimbursement of their travel costs for any missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, in addition to ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unforeseen hotel stay or additional gas. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforseen occurs .

General Rental Tips & Tricks

Many people are surprised to learn just how many vacation homes are located in their area of interest. Rental homes are gaining in popularity among vacationers, and visitors will find that the sheer number of rental homes available makes it possible to find an suitable getaway to fit their Beaufort, NC group, from relaxing condominiums to grand event homes with several bedrooms.

Vacation homes are frequently owner operated or managed by rental management companies. Vacation rental management companies leverage scale, equipment and working experience to provide simple and easy operational administration on behalf of the property owner..

Here are some ideas and strategies to help you understand the vacation rental search and booking process.

How to find and reserve the perfect vacation home:

Do you believe "UPDATED CONDO WITH GREAT OCEAN VIEWS. EASY BEACH OR POOL ACCESS" is the perfect rental for your upcoming trip? Read through this check list to confirm it fits your preferences.

The Sooner You Begin, The Better The Selection

Beaufort, NC rentals book many months (and up to a year) in advance. Reserving your rental 6-12 months in advance is recommended, when possible. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years are excellent times to plan and book your rental home..

Find your Spot and Establish Dates

Begin by picking which particular area of Beaufort, NC you prefer to browse, and the approximate dates you'll be vacationing.

Selecting an Appropriately-Sized Vacation rental

Keep a list of attendees. How many beds and bedrooms will you be needing? Try to remember that a lot of vacation rentals list maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in the living room space. You'll need to figure out what is acceptable for your party. Specific descriptions of bedrooms and beds are commonly available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you book.

Have a Budget

Many rentals are marketed with a cost range. Determine the price for your chosen week. It could be at the top end of the range. If several groups or relatives are sharing the cost, check to make sure each group knows their obligations and has agreed to a maximum they are willing to contribute. Generally speaking, just one member of the group will be liable for making the full reservation and recovering each family member's share.

Let's Discuss Amenities

What amenities is the family interested in? Do you only desire a property with a pool, hot tub or volleyball court? Do you desire to be away from it all, or near a city setting? Are bed sheets offered with the rental agreement, or do you need to bring your own? Make a list of priority conveniences to guide filter your search.

Special Issues to consider

Grandma and Grandpa will appreciate you for not renting a stairs-only condominium on the Third floor. Make sure you remember and inquire about wheelchair accessibility, pool lifts and special equipment requirements..

Paws-Friendly, Please

Don't forget to include your best friend! Animal friends are welcome at many vacation rentals, but policies differ. Many limitations may possibly dismiss a prospective vacation property. Read your agreement carefully! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your contract. Ask questions *before* you reserve!

Its Time to Search

. In addition to Homeaway, VRBO and Tripadvisor, we recommend searching Google for "Beaufort, NC local rental properties" for local vacation rental management companies. Local property management companies pride themselves on a top-quality vacation experience.

Negotiate

Re-read the description to ensure that the rental home has everything you need. If lacking, the property management company may know of similar properties that suit your style and budget..

While not true for all properties, many property owners and property managers will make a deal on rates. If the rate isn't negotiable, the number of nights might be. Your greatest potential for a lower rate will be switching to a less desirable week.

Read the Entire Contract

Read the complete agreement and be certain you understand who is liable for:

  • Power bills
  • WIFI Access
  • Long Distance Phone Service
  • Pool Heating
  • Cable and pay-per-view TV
  • Cleaning Service
  • Trash Pickup (and which day?)
  • Maintenance policies
  • Key exchange
  • Parking Fees

In addition to the regular charge, visitors must pay local taxes when booking "UPDATED CONDO WITH GREAT OCEAN VIEWS. EASY BEACH OR POOL ACCESS", as well as various other fees that may be mandatory depending on their circumstances, including a pet charge, earlier check-in or late check-out fee, or a pool heater fee for private pool usage during the autumn or spring months.

What's the Cancellation Policy?

Be sure you are familiar with the cancellation policy prior to booking. Many rental home contracts include an option for trip insurance. Trip insurance safeguards the renter against emergencies and weather events, It offers comfort should tragedy strike.

Book your Vacation Property

When you feel you've found "the one", begin the booking process. You will probably be required to submit a security deposit at time of booking.

Where to Get Help

Put the rental manager's contact information into your smartphone and wallet for quick access to answers throughout your stay.

Congrats on booking your rental home! You're on the way to a terrific vacation!

During your Stay

  • Record the overall condition of the rental home right away. We also suggest immediately getting in touch with the property manager with a report of any damages, along with your request for any necessary fixes. If there is a disagreement about legal liability later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts should be helpful.
  • If you have any ambiguity about parking, policies of the house, property access, pool operation, etc... we advise you ask the rental manager promptly. A brief phone call avoids many complications.
  • Remember to be a good next-door neighbor. Local people are likely to be as friendly to you as you are considerate of them. Remember the golden rule and treat others the same way you'd like to be treated by vacationers next to your primary residence.
  • Ask a local. Locals may point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best chicken wings, have a great night out, or the best spots for night life?
  • Be sure to protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would in your own home.

Leaving Paradise

  • Double-check each room of the rental to make sure you've gathered all valuables.
  • Once everything is out, begin a walk-through of the rental home to make certain no property damage occurred during your stay. We recommend walking through with the property manager wherever possible (this isn't always the case).. If the property manager is not available, make certain you take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • How was your trip? Many vacation rental management companies and rental search sites make it easy for renters to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they'll appreciate your recommendations. If anything went wrong, we recommend being understanding but sincere about your rental experience. The best property owners and managers will work very hard to fix the situation.

Learn and Improve

Did they love their rental? We hope this guide steered you to a great rental unit. If the property was not ideal, and you will better recognize how to filter your search for the next trip.
