Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental experience:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Summer months are the most expensive season in Pine Knoll Shores. Book your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Make a plan and choose your Beaufort, NC rental:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Dunewood - Oceanfront home with 4 Bedrooms, 4 Baths, Pine Knoll Shores has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, NC beach you crave, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Note any issues with the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
