Tips and Tricks to get the very best Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Beaufort, NC vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain deals for local shops and restaurants.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your family decide on the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Executive Home with Neighborhood Beach Access has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before booking the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC beach you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many issues.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, note any problem areas during check in. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Property owners rely on great reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
