Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Here Comes The Sun Ocean side House Emerald Isle N.C. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
