How to get the best Beaufort rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Summer months are high season in Beaufort. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Historic home in the heart of Beaufort has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what is right for your vacation.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC beach you crave, browse homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Record any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
  • Respect your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
