Tricks and tips to get the perfect rental home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Book your Beaufort, NC rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • Start by having your family choose vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Home - Newly Renovated - Beach House - Emerald Isle Point Great for Familes has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the vacation property. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Re-check the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
