Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Finding your perfect rental:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Triquetra (Sea, Sky, Land), Oceanfront House in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to determine what bed configuration is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a rental that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great reviews to propel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
