Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Get the best rental value:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Atlantic Beach. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Often, property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Start by having your family commit to trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Hook Wine and Sinker, Oceanside House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what is right for your vacation family.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

Advice for a great stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to propel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
