Tips to get the best Beaufort rental home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Some property management companies offer special rates for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Selecting and booking a perfectrental:

  • Start by choosing your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration you need. This one-bedroom studio will send you back to the '60s and '70s. \n has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the property manager about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
