How to find the best vacation rental experience:

Sticking to your spending plan:

  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation home in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some hosts offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have coupons for nearby tours and attractions.

Planning and choosing the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation home:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Island Beach Racquet Club 303B, Oceanfront Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Traveling with pets? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or might be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC attraction you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
