Tips and Tricks to get the very best Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:
Sticking to a rental home budget:
- Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is high season in Atlantic Beach. To find the largest rental within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to pick the perfect rental in Atlantic Beach:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Pet-friendly, Pool, 3 Blocks to Beach! Unit 112 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is normally accessible online. If not, reach out to the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many problems.
- Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
- At Check-in, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a wonderful stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
