Tips and Tricks for getting the best Beaufort, NC rental experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • The sooner you can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Summer time is high season in Atlantic Beach. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on local tours and attractions.

How to choose the best vacation rental in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Newly Remodeled Charming Beach Cottage with Private Pool in Historic Salter Path has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before booking the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's a certain Beaufort, NC destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the property manager's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make sure no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. message the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Re-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
