Tips for getting the best Beaufort, NC vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserve your vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

Planning and picking the bestrental home:

  • To start, have your family commit to the best dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. The Sand Castle, Oceanside House in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Advice for a terrific stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
