Getting the best Emerald Isle vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing the best vacation home:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Ocean Reef 11-B1, Almost Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If not, email or call the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or costs might be applied to your invoice.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on good ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
