Tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Getting the best rental home value:

  • Summer is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best value, shift your vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • The sooner your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Choosing the perfect rental home in Emerald Isle:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Oceanfront 10 bedroom w/Pool, Elevator. Epic Views like your own Private Island! has 10 bedrooms and 8 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to determine what is suitable for your group.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are helpful if damages are assessed.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent feedback to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
