Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to go & When to book:

  • The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • To find the best value, change your family's Beaufort, NC vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines that include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • To start, have your group decide on date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Point Emerald A-205, Oceanfront Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to determine what is best for your vacation family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC destination you are crazy about, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
  • Lock your rental home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make sure that damages aren't linked to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas upon check in. Call the host right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
