  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Reserve your vacation home in the Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.

  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
