When to go & When to book:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • To find the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.

  • Respect your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
