Strategies to get the best vacation property experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Quiet studio has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about your furry family members before booking.
  • If there's an individual Beaufort, NC attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent lots of issues.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
