Tricks and tips to get the very best rental experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Booking a rental in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include special offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking a perfect Beaufort, NC vacation home:

  • Select vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Sassy Seagull West, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed types is usually available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property owner before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your family.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. message the property manager right away to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your holiday.
  • Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
