Our top Vacation rental booking tips:

When to visit & When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Book your Beaufort, NC vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Sea Castle East, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or applied to your contract.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of problems.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Document any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
