Beaufort, NC rental home tips and tricks:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • Summer months are high season in Emerald Isle. To book the best rental home within your budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, NC attractions. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines that include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to pick the perfect vacation home:

  • Select your vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Sound Of The Sea North 205, Oceanview Condo in Emerald Isle, NC! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property manager before you book the property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your trip.
  • Are you looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home life. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to stimulate new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
