Tricks and tips to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved very early. Booking your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Summer is high season in Atlantic Beach. Book your Beaufort, NC rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the best rental in Atlantic Beach:

  • Select your vacation week and budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family needs. Newly renovated condo with beautiful ocean views!\n has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation group.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Note any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
