How to find the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Pine Knoll Shores. Booking in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your host or property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Often, rental management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the rightvacation home:

  • Select your vacation dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Third-Floor Condo in Direct Oceanfront Building w/Shared Pool, WiFi, & Balcony has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the host before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To make certain that no damages are linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, take a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic vacation? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
