Rental property booking tips and tricks:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To find the best rental for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Beaufort, NC restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick your prefect Beaufort, NC rental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Roosevelt Retreat, Almost Oceanfront House, Located in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Call the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
