Beaufort, NC rental home tips:

When to visit & When to book:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To book the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which include coupons, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your group agree to vacation dates and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. 2 Seas the Day West, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property management company before you reserve the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is suitable for your vacation group.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your stay, inspect for any problem areas upon check in. Call the rental manager immediately to record any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings on check-out day. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
