Strategies to get the very best vacation rental experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation home in the Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing the perfect vacation home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to date ranges and a budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 4BR duplex close to town and ocean front! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC vacation rental search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the host before booking the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
