Strategies to get the perfect vacation home experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To book the largest rental within your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Beaufort, NC attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. .

Have a fantastic stay:

  • We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
