Getting the best Pine Knoll Shores vacation property experience:

Sticking to your rental budget:

  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Reserve your rental property in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Choosing and booking the bestrental:

  • Select your dates and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Beachwalk 105, Oceanfront Condo in Pine Knoll Shores, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If not, email the host before reserving the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your family is traveling with pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC attraction you simply love, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a wonderful vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
