Our top Beaufort, NC rental property booking tips and tricks:

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To get the most suitable rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Beaufort, NC attractions and restaurants.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which will include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Selecting and booking the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation home:

  • Start by choosing a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family needs. Family Paradise, Oceanfront Complex Amenities Galore has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the host before you reserve the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly vacation rental. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
