Booking the best Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

Money saving strategies:

  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in Emerald Isle. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, travel guides contain discounts for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning and picking the perfect Beaufort, NC rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your group select a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Conch Inn, Oceanfront Duplex in Emerald Isle, NC! has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before you book the rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property owners require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
