Rental booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Beaufort, NC vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • Begin by selecting your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Dock of the Bay - Soundfront House, 3BR, 2BA, Atlantic Beach has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the host before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what configuration is best for your trip.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
