Getting the best rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking your Beaufort, NC vacation rental in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and picking your prefect Beaufort, NC vacation home:
- First and foremost, have your family select a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Dock of the Bay - Soundfront House, 3BR, 2BA, Atlantic Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve the home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your vacation group.
- If there's a particular Beaufort, NC attraction you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your needs.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
- If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Put the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
