Tips for getting the perfect Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

Finding the best value:

  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your rental property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
  • Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at popular Beaufort, NC attractions and restaurants.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many property management companies supply Beaufort, NC area travel guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select vacation week and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Beautiful, Comfortable Condo With Dock Space ... quick access to Bogue Sound has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the host before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your family.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Often, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC beach you love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the host's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Document any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • At departure, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to compel more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
