Tips and Tricks to get the very best Beaufort, NC rental experience:

Get the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Book your vacation home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation property up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Hosts sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area travel guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to choose and book a perfectrental:

  • First, have your group select the best dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Ain't In No Hurry Today (Formerly, Dolphin's Lullaby), Oceanside House in Emeral has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Is your group looking for special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.

Know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the property manager right away to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often times, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep the property locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
