How to get the best vacation property experience:
How to get the best value:
- The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking your vacation rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First and foremost, have your group commit to the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Emma’s Resort, Casa De Agua “The Home By The Water and The Crystal Coast" has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Beaufort, NC rentals search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, size, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
