Tricks and tips to get the best Beaufort, NC rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Book your vacation home in Fall or Spring to enjoy gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides contain deals for local tours and attractions.

Make a plan and choose a perfectrental:

  • First, have your family commit to a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Family & Dog Friendly Oceanfront has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your trip.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you're out! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host immediately to relay any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Just prior to departing, complete a final walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental websites make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
