Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • In the Beaufort, NC area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • To get the most suitable rental home within your budget, we strongly suggest reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.

Choosing the perfect rental in the Beaufort, NC area:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Great Get away, 3rd Floor, Ocean View Beach Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property management company before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to work out what bed configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must reserve a rental that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your family looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

Tips to have a smooth stay:

  • We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents many concerns.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
