Strategies to get the best Beaufort, NC vacation property experience:

When to visit Atlantic Beach & When to reserve a Atlantic Beach rental home:

  • Summertime is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable homes.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Beaufort, NC visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guides have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Start by choosing vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Southwinds A17 - 2 Bedrooms, 2 Baths, Oceanfront Condo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Tips to have a wonderful stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your home life. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a terrific time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
