This review from a guest says it best! Thanks Patricia! "Clamalot is spectacular!
This was our best experience with Vacation Rental By Owner yet. The property owner - Robert Rose-has put time and effort into creating a space that is clean, handsome, unique and comfortable. The home has historical books and items from the community that create a true sense of "space". The area has many family friendly things to do, fresh seafood, and a laid back vibe. Rob was also communicative and prompt in his responses regarding check in and check out. We will definitely be back and highly recommend this property."

A marvelous vacation offering in Historic Beaufort NC! Beautiful three bedroom two-story home with off street parking and room for your boat. First floor has a huge living room, well equipped eat in kitchen with new stainless appliances, two bedrooms and one full bath, and a dining room. Upstairs has a sizable bedroom with two 3/4 beds and a sitting area, a nook with desk and a full bath. Wood floors throughout, the kitchen is newly refreshed, new two zone air conditioning upstairs and down, and freshly painted and decorated.

The kitchen is very well equipped for a serious prepare, and there is everyday dishwasher safe china, glass and silverware, as well as an broad collection of vintage barware, crystal and china for settings suitable for any occasion. ( glass and dishware with gold decoration must be hand washed-plenty others dishwasher safe)

The back yard is humongous, has charcoal park style grille, 4 Adirondack chairs around a fire pit and a enormous picnic table.

All of the beds are new, the bed linens include 100% cotton sheets, there are reading lights beside the beds to appreciate books from a huge collection, with many focused on Beaufort.

Amazon Alexa in living room, and Amazon dots in laundry room and in all bedrooms for music, news, weather, alarms, you name it! ( These are not surveillance devices. Feel complimentary to unplug if the spook you but remember to plug back in for next guests)

This is my second home as well, and has tons of antiques, art, books and collectibles not usually found in a vacation rental. No Ikea here!

Rental property booking tips:

Money saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, shift your family's Beaufort, NC trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Beaufort, NC area magazine upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guide magazines contain coupons for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose and book yourrental home:

  • First, have your family select vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Historic Beaufort NC House, 3-Bedroom 2-Story, Big Yard, Walk/Bike Everywhere has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or costs may be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a specific Beaufort, NC attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas when you arrive. text the host right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your group have a fantastic time? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
