Finding the best Beaufort, NC rental experience:

Find your perfect vacation home:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Beaufort, NC area. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is a good way to save on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Beaufort, NC area visitor guides which often include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Beaufort, NC visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and choosing the rightrental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Dune Castle East: Family Friendly Oceanfront Beach Duplex With Adjoining Door has 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, call the property management company before booking your rental. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your contract.
  • If there's a particular Beaufort, NC destination you love, look for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

More considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget any personal items. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
