Strategies to get the best Atlantic Beach vacation rental experience:

When to reserve a Beaufort, NC rental & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Atlantic Beach. To get the best rental home within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at the beach and popular Beaufort, NC attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Beaufort, NC vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Owners sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property managers usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing the best rental home:

  • To start, have your family choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Island Beach Racquet Club 303A, Oceanfront Condo in Atlantic Beach, NC! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before booking your rental. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Looking for particular amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peace. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on good feedback to compel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
